Since 1987 The Classic Corner has been selling high quality
sports memorabilia for the novice, intermediate and advanced collector. Born out of
a life long love for sports, I started right at the bottom selling at various flea markets
and doing occasional small shows. From there The
Classic Corner took the quantum leap and became a mainstay at the Ft.
Washington, Pa. show and I have not looked back since. I went full-time in 1992 and
enjoyed unprecedented success selling older, pre-1970 memorabilia (World Series, All-Star
programs, tickets, pennants, display pieces, etc.) to a burgeoning market hungry for
something other than the stagnating wave of "wax box mania" that permeated the
hobby’s collective consciousness during the late 1980’s and early
1990’s.
Today, The Classic Corner is alive
and well with a monthly price-list (since 1990) and bi-monthly auctions. Our full
color auction catalogues and monthly mailers are sent to people all over the world.
Consignors are encouraged to submit their pre-1970 memorabilia for future considerations.
The
Classic Corner is always looking to buy quality pre-1970 sports
memorabilia. I am especially interested in : World Series & All-Stars programs,
any or all championship publications, tickets, felt pennants, display pieces (all sizes,
all kinds and all quantities), football stuff, basketball items, hockey, boxing, tennis,
golf, etc. - equipment, uniforms, autographed balls, pinback buttons, pocket schedules,
all paper items, etc. I will consider almost anything provided, of course, that it
is pre-1970 and in reasonably decent shape. Sorry------I don’t buy graded
material.
I like to think that The Classic Corner is an innovative and
environmentally-conscious company, as well. We’re starting to publish all of
our offerings (price-list & auction catalogues) on 100% tree-free kenaf (pronounced
key-nuff )paper. We try to recycle anything and everything when possible. One
day I hope to be able to offer customer incentives such as: rebates and discounts to those
who participate in our cleaner earth programs.
