On May 26, 1959 Harvey Haddix pitched one of the greatest games of all time. For (12) innings the crafty southpaw retired all (36) Milwaukee Braves batters only to lose his bid for a Perfect Game (and no-hitter) in the bottom of the 13th inning on a Don Hoak throwing error (sacrifice bunt, intentional walk, a Braves base running blunder & a Joe Adcock 2B hit) that led to a 1-0 Braves victory. This treasure trove of material, all housed in a ring binder, includes: letters written to teammates of the hard luck pitcher (and replies) inquiring about the their memories of the game, clippings, articles, etc. There's even a poem entitled "The Ballad of Harvey Haddix."
